The talk will focus on the One Year Performances of renowned artist Tehching Hsieh whose archive will be presented for the first time in Canada at DHC SESSION this autumn. An examination of the artist’s melding of daily life and performance will be discussed along with his means of archiving and presenting his work. Tehching Hsieh artworks will be presented as part as Living Time exhibition at DHC/ART from October 16th to November 21st.
DHC ART is pleased to collaborate with VIVA! Art Action during their second edition of the festival. Based in Montréal and presenting international artists, VIVA! Art Action is a major event entirely dedicated to performance art.
Cette conférence portera sur la performance et l’archivage en s’intéressant particulièrement aux One year performances de l’artiste-performeur taiwano-américain Tehching Hsieh. La thématique de la vie quotidienne versus la performance sera abordée et la méthode de documentation de l’artiste sera aussi discutée. Les œuvres de Tehching Hsieh seront présentées dans le cadre de l’exposition Survivre au temps à DHC/ART, du 16 octobre au 21 novembre.
Pour cet événement, DHC/ART Fondation pour l’art contemporain est heureuse de s’associer à Viva! Art Action qui présente cette année la deuxième édition de son festival. Basé à Montréal, VIVA! Art Action est un événement majeur présentant des artistes internationaux et entièrement dédié à la performance.
