the pool became a stage and the performer sang and danced. acts were broken up with video projection, costumes were changed, and we were entertained.
but i am quite certain lilibeth cuenca rasmussen has a lot to say. about colonialism, about feminism, about racism, about identity politics.
and i am very glad i am able to attend lilibeth’s artist talk tomorrow. because this is one performer who puts everything into her performance.
she began the performance in a white wig and a yellow costume to then change her disguise to a feather attired « cock » to then became an « artist » dressed in white with moveable accessories to end her performance dressed in a grass skirt. but it is the words that accompanied her costumes that deserve to have a second listen.
stay tuned and tomorrow there will be a follow-up post to lilibeth’s performance tonight.
